Hi all, new here to grandamgt.com. Anyway, I just modified my turn signal bulbs in the rear. I purchased 4 3156 25LED bulbs with 6 LED's shining light out on the side from superbrightleds.com. Also, with those I purchased 4 6ohm resistors. I had to use 2 6 ohm resistors on each side since I didn't have any 3 ohms. I like the look of the LED, but are there any LED light bulbs that are brighter, within a reasonable price? The reason I'm asking being the LED bulbs are about the same intensity as my rear driving lights when lit as opposed the the regular filament bulbs. Yes, I did read that LED bulbs had lower output due to their light being concentrated in a single area, etc.
I will post a video later.
Here's a description of the bulbs:
3156 25-LED bulb
25-LED 12VDC replacement bulb
16mm Single Intensity wedge base
Unique design has 19 LEDs aiming out the end and 6 radially mounted LEDs aiming 90 degrees from the base for better lens fill

My apologies!!! I will get a video up tonight after I get out of work. Good ol' budget time here at work, so it'll be a late night.

it's cool man, no worries! I have a daytime video, but my bloody PDA is acting up as usual with ActiveSync. I will try to get a vid up as soon as possible, sorry guys.
EDIT: Video now posted.

Interesting, but doesn't look much different in the video.

I've always wanted to do this seeing as how all my DRL's and tail lights are LED's. very cool.

The video doesn't serve much justice. It was shot on my phone and the pixels were crappy. I'll shoot it on my camera and you can see a notable difference.

they seem to blink a little faster than stock...which is cool i guess.
what did u use for resistance?

Again, the video did chop up for some reason, so yes it does look like it is blinking faster, especially in the beginning; plus the camera (on my phone) has very poor pixel resolutions.
I had to use 2 6ohm 50W resistors on each side, 1 per bulb.
The only odd thing is when I have the car on ACC and I turn on the signals, they work fine, but when I turn on the running lights along with the signals on, they blink as if there is a blown turn signal bulb out. Meh, o well.

lol my blink about 3 times as fast as that its so damn annoying.
i stopped signaling because of it

I was having the same problem with ACC & normal headlights/running lights. The easy solution is to install another 6ohm 50W resistor for 1 of the bulbs on each side (2 more total).
I'm still trying to find another solution that doesn't use 3 50W resistors since with 2 3W LED's per side it "should" blink normally when using only 2 6ohm 50W resistors. Even an electronic relay (specifically for LED applications)wired inline didn't cure the problem. Oh well, I still have to finish modding the other taillight assy.
