Hey i was wondering if anyone has bought the HID foglight kit off of oznium.com (well actually its HIDs but just hte bulb is 880/881). Are they easy to install like the Headlights were or would i have to start cutting wires and other things. Also would the stock foglight housing be suitable or would i have to buy a new one? thanks if any more questions arise ill let yall know :D

their kit is extemely easy to do. Its all plug and play, takes 10 minutes to install. And i dont see why the stock fog housing wouldnt be suitable, get it you wont regret it

I have the HID in my stock housing. You will be fine. Just get the kit and put them in the fogs..

If its a regular 880 bulb then it's not HID like the headlights.

The only way if it's hid is if it comes with connectors, ballast, etc. And you will need modifcation. Although the wattage on those hid headlights are lower than the stock halogens, I am not sure how hot they get but i assume the plastic housing in our fogs may need to be swapped.

I cant find 880 bulbs on the oz site. Again, if it's just regular 880 bulbs, then buy them off ebay for $20 as apposed to spending $60 or more for oz bulbs that will be the same. If you want real bright fogs get a fog hid kit, make sure it comes with the wiring harness, etc otherwise get blazzers. Your second best choice would be silverstars or piaa bulbs.

edit: i can't find the fog light hid kit on thier site.

Look all the way to the right of the page. You see where it says add to cart.
In the drop dpwn window choose 880 thent the color you want and wala you just bought hids for your fog lights.

the 880 is the the bulb we use for fogs, itll work. You just gotta pay $$ for a full kit. Too much for fogs IMO

ya it is kindof pricy but i installed my HID headlights and i turned on my foglights and the light output of them just isnt up to par anymore and it doesnt look as good, and ive seen some cars around here with both HID headlights and fogs and they look really cool.

But the problem is im not sure where to mount the ballast, are they waterproof? because if not i would probably have to mount it somewhere underneath the car where it would be in danger of water getting on them on a rainy day or something

I was going to put HID's in my fogs to compliment my HID headlights, but like you said, theres not really room to put the ballasts. So I put in some Hella Angel Eye H3 fogs and some yellow bulbs.

The only problem with putting HIDs in your fogs is replacing the stock bulb has a radial filament and the HID which is Axial. It could potentially cause glare. Probably much less than the headlights however.

Thing is with my HID heads. I really dont need fogs anymore bc there so damn bright. If your gonna go with them its just basically a apperance mod now

would hid fogs help me out at night because i have the autonasty black headlights and my lightoutput at night is crap. And i dont really wanna get hid headlights because i like the highbeam/low beam feature and i like to switch. So would an hid fog kit brightin up the road enough to be worth it for me?

ya i would basically want the foglights as an apperance mod because i know right now my hid headlights light up alot. as for your question llsht14 im not sure if they would or not because i havent tried em yet.

On a seprete note does anyone know where i could mount the ballasts to avoid water?

You really dont need high beams with them, they're that bright.

As for mounting the ballast, i just mounted them up on top of the fender

this is the way to go...IMO whether you use hids or just bulbs, use yellow.

I have HID highs lows and fogs on my G/A... I love them! The fog kit is just like a headlight kit but different bulbs of course. I would also get relay harness for them too. I go to DXhid.com for all my hid lighting.

When you take the headlight housing out. Youll see a little oval type brace there. I mounted them right on there. I had no problem what so ever with the mounting. But theres different spots you can put them, i.e the frame

How do you find the hid on DXhid.com
Are numbers the same for all the foglights.

Click on EXES DIGITAL HID KITS and pick 880 on the first kit thing.

Why would need a relay kit for the HIDs Dumb question

I should do this. I've been thinking of how crappy my stock bulbs are and how I'd love to have some REAL light. Mine are so crappy that the amber colored city street lights drown out any light I'm really putting out...

I monted mine right bend the reinforcement. Face them down so the plug is on the bottom. Been there for the past 3 years. Never had a problem with them.

I decided to follow your advice and I'm now out of almost $500 for the heads and fogs all together. It'll be interesting to see the difference.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you, but make sure you make a thread with the pics!

Oh and maybe an install how-to just in case- and to put this thread to rest.

I'll be sure to post up before and afters once they're installed.

Mental note: Search for headlight alignment procedure again.

It does seem that way, and normally I'd be hesitant to spend that kind of money. However, I consider this a safety issue rather than a "new toy" of sorts.
