Has anyone gotten a dash kit from here http://www.autoanything.com/dash-kits/21A50695A1.aspx

If so are they any good? I was thinking of getting the carbon fiber one.

Are they just stickers?

Looks to be some cheap crap.

And on second hand, why would you want wood grain in a GA?

Most of those dash kits are plastic pieces that you stick on over top of the stock parts. They do not replace the stock part and they are not made of real carbon fiber, aluminum, or wood. Some look better than others, and some companies that make them offer more colors and styles of carbon fiber "look". They all look kinda cheasy though IMO, because raise the height of everything. Best thing to do is just take the pieces off and paint them, or get a water film transfer onto the stock parts if you really want CF look. I've seen a few of those and they look great.

I have a few little filler panels I cut out of a piece of fiberglass with CF over it. That's it. I painted all my interior pieces light gray. They were red before that. Never had a dash kit myself, but I've seen plenty in person. :)

Hey Aaron, were do you get the materials to do the film water transfer?

ummmm... you don't. As far as I know it can only be done professionally. There was a thread on here about a company that was doing it. Just have to search for it. You send your parts in to them and they apply the film then send them back. Several people on here had it done and where very pleased with the results.

Well, I Googled the process and it seemed to me like it was close to decal transfer. Wet the material, slide it off it's backing and then let it dry. But I guess it's not that easy. I saw the items on E-Bay that had it done. I was looking at those. They look really nice.

It's a little different from a decal. From what I've read on it, it seems to be a type of stretchy film that can be applied to complex contoured surfaces. Probably why they can do a GA gauge bezel without it getting all bunched up or distorted. I'm not sure if it's got an adhesive on it or something, but they put the film on top of water and then press the part down into it so that the water pushes the film up around the part. Apparently that's how they get it to go on evenly. Thats all I know about it.
