I'm going this saturday (hopefully) to find my g/f a bridal set of rings and in the same day looking for a new vehicle.

I know I have been through this many times, but I'm at the point that I really don't know what I want. My settlement finally came through, and I'm getting the check cashed friday, and I'll hopefully have about $3,000 to put down on a vehicle after I buy the rings, pay on a different medical bill totally unrelated to the accident that is giving me this money.

But if you guys & girls could throw some ideas out for me, I want an SUV, and only an SUV. I need a vehicle with with large enough seats where it won't cut my legs short and make them go to sleep (like the 1999 Honda Passport). I drove a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, and I thought that I wanted one, but their a little too small in the interior. I'm 6'2, 210 lbs, so I'm no small guy, so if someone could take that into consideration.

I'm not looking to finance a $30,000 vehicle, maybe 15k or less. And of course I'm looking for used, can't really afford much more than that.

Any help will be much appreciated.

A regular explorer should fit you fine if you still like the styling and drivability. My roommate drives a 98 explorer, he's about 6'4" and 215-220lbs and fits decently inside it.

The Mazda CX-7's are so nice, but very expensive. If I could find a used one with decent miles, I would get that. I like them even more than the Murano's.

But whatever I get saturday (if I get one then) you can be sure that I'll snap pics and post on here.

I have a 07' Grand Cherokee it drives nice and its roomy. Im 5'11 and there is plenty of room for me and the people sitting behind me. Only thing though is that it eats gas, but your getting an SUV so you already expect that.

I'd say the CX-7 or CX-9. May be able to find a used one with a low price tag. Unfortunately, almost all SUV's get crappy gas mileage, it's just a matter of finding which one is the least crappy.

VERY roomy. I'm 6' and feel like I have a TON of room inside of it- I look up and the roof looks like it is way up there. If I were in the market for an SUV, I'd have a Murano in a heartbeat.

If I find a CX-7 like I want, I'll probably opt for the turbo 4cyl. I WILL look for a Murano though, you guys have me convinced. But if I can't find either...might look at the Kia Sorento's.

Well, I went today and I ended up getting a 2003 Ford Escape Limited. It is black with tan leather. It has everything, even back up sensors! Will post pics tomorrow. I'm already shopping for black tail lights.

The guy at the dealership said that he would have traded headlights with me, but there is talk of actual projectors with HID's coming out for them, so I might just wait on that. I'm going to get the 2 front windows tinted to match and get the black tails that I posted of a link earlier. I'm going to give my dad the 6 disc CD player that is in it, and just take mine out of the GA and install it in there because at the moment there is no MP3 player plug in, so I'm missing that. It's awesome, has the "Mach" sound system with the little sub in the back right, not sure what size, but it thumps for factory, and it has some nice tweeters, so I will probably not mess with upgrading my sound system except for my HU. Thank you for all the nice comments, I love this thing.

I just ordered the black tails for the Escape, and my fiance said that she will give me the money to order the black headlights tomorrow. I will have pics up as soon as everything gets here and installed.

Well, of course I had to ask permission, but she said since I wanted them so bad, that if I bought the tails, she would buy me the headlights. And concerning the clear corners. The only headlights with the clear corners are the ones like I have on there now, but I want the newer style headlights like the ones in the 05^, but I wanted them in black. That's why I'm getting them. Can't wait to get it all installed.
