hey guys, im getting bored lol and i was thinking about something to do and i thought about changing out my Infinity Reference 5.25s in my doors to some Kappa 6.5s or 6.5 components. i have a 4ch amp as u can see in my profile so it can push pretty much anything there is for speakers well. so is it worth it? i can get either set of 6.5s for around 50-70 on ebay so its not a HUGE deal really.....thanks in advance

I suppose that depends if you're happy with what you've got or not.

Save that money and get your windows tinted or something. :)

i personally think that if your going to get comps dont waise money on the Kappas. there not bad, but i think you'll be a lot happier with these Quarts

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1218

they should a lot better then the Kappa's there just not as bass heavy. which doesnt matter, cause you have subs. the Quarts Mids and Highs are pretty damn good.

go with 6.5 comps...just hear em before you buy em to decide what sounds good to you.

You know what man, you should really stop being ;attention

Come on man grow up already. If you only have 100 bucks to spend, why are you wasting everyones time with really dum questions. Its your car. You do what you want. Some guys say leave it alone. But you want to spend it. How about giving me the 100 that you have for the time that it cost me to type this to you. Change the dam speakers all ready. Is it worth it, NO ITS NOT fu*& worht it.. Not for 100 bucks. Get about 300 then come ask that question.. Now you would play with the big boys and not with little toys.

I'm with Chris on this..for $100 it doesn't matter what you get, it's gonna blow anyways. Save your money and invest in something that's gonna sound good and last you awhile.

What part didnt you understand about anything that was posted by me or AJ. Your young and still wet behind the ears, IT NOT WORTH IT. Do you understand that!!!! Save your money, like I said , when you have 300 or more , then come on here and ask. Forget 2 way componets. 3 way is the way to go. Thats why you save your money ..

You'd be better off investing that $100 into a roll of Raammat and some Ensolite foam. Throw a few layers on the doors, seal them off, top it with a layer of Ensolite. Do the same with the rear speaker deck. Use whatever's left on the trunk. It'll be a bigger improvement than the speaker upgrade you have in mind.

x2, that's exactly what I was gonna say. It'll add a new dimension to your front speakers.

No, you'll mainly be covering the big holes in your inner door panel.

Check out raamaudio.com

Here is the 'how-to' section:
http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=ht

It's the same concept as an IB sub install. You're blocking the rear wave of the speakers output from canceling out the front wave. There is a substantial increase in low end output from your front speakers by doing this. IMO, anyone that is even remotely interested in car audio should do this. It's slow and tedious work, but well worth it.

I think jperryss has a thread with pics on here as well.
