the hoods you do see consist of a warbird scoop (the link is on here somewhere, search) that has been bolted to a stock hood, then fiberglassed, then painted..more or less.
iirc the scoop is ~$100 or more.

dont you have any local shops that would be willing to work on it instead of paying a crazy amount of money to have it shipped?

well yea i did have a family friend that owned a shop downtown that would have done it cheap. Well to make a long story short he is now in jail for drunk driving and wont be out anytime soon. So his shop is closed. And i am posting on here before going anywhere local because i am sure that someone on here that has done this is alot more familiar with the warbird scoops and grand am hoods then someone local and can make it look better.
And as i figure it. If im gonna pay like 699 for a sc/t hood off of pfyc. I would much rather pay that much for a hood that i want and is my color.

I dont think anyone here does body work professionally. Not to offend anyone, but I wouldnt trust "some random dude" to do the work. If you bring it to a mom and pop type shop, they will have a reputation to uphold and likely will do a halfway decent job at least. Get ahold of a scoop, set up an appt. to have it put on and painted over a period of a few days when you can go without your car.

I'm with Jared, find a freakin shop locally, save yourself the money and get some much better work done. If they warranty the work, EVEN BETTER.

if you actually find someone to do it, you should have them pick up another hood at a junk yard, that way you still have a hood and don't have to worry about shipping it 2 ways. just a thought

im in ohio i can do it. i went to school for body work and work at a shop. i would go with the idea he had have me pick up a hood around here that way u still have a hood on ur car and dont pay shipping twice.
