HOW TO: Turn off automatic locking.

If you're like me and hate always haveing to unlock the car when someone gets out.. maybe youll be interested.. to disable the locks from locking when put into drive, go outside, turn your car to ACC. then hold down the lock button til it chimes at ya.. turn the car to off, start her up, put her into drive and make sure it didnt lock.

Yeah, it's in there somewhere. I disabled that garbage when I first got my car. I don't like not being able to control my car. :D

I set mine where only the drivers door unlocks. I have a sedan and didn't like all my locks unlocking like that ! I also turned off the horn confimation when using the key fob.

Close doors.
Put key in ignition to ON.
Press & hold for 10-seconds the LOCK button on the driver's door.
Count chrimes you hear. That is the mode # you are in.
Repeat pressing & holding of the lock button until you hear the # chrimes for the mode you want.

Mode 1: all doors lock & unlock; when shifting out of park & into park & turning key to OFF.

Mode 2: all doors lock & only driver's door unlocks.

Mode 3: All doors lock & no unlocking.

Mode 4: No automatic locking/unlocking.


IIRC, to turn-off horn chirp.

Close doors.
Put key in ignition to ON.
Press & hold for 10-seconds the UNLOCK button on the driver's door.
The horn will do a short chirp when done.

Ok I think I'm at mode 1, but when my car is shifted to park, it doesn't automatically unlock, and usually people wait until i either turn it off or i unlock it(for some reason my friends get very confused with the GA door locks....)

But if i were to go through the modes and back to #1 would i get my shifted-into-park unlocking back? ...Or how would I get that to work?

No. The GA only unlocks once the ignition is turned off.

I actually like these features enabled. And I like to know when my car is locking. I wouldn't be able to tell if the horn is disabled. I would see the lights flash, but I may be hitting the wrong button and the car would be unlocking instead of locking. I would have no idea.

Just repeat the orginal step. One Chime means factory mode.
