Ok, I've already got an Alpine 9885 head unit and 2 JL subs installed, and I just got my Infinity Reference 6x9's installed yesterday and am going to be doing the Infinity Reference 4x6's soon.
Now I need some amp help. The subs are already amped and the specs on the speakers are:
6x9's=2-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)
4x6's=2-45 watts RMS (135 watts peak power)
Any suggestions for the amp?
By the way, the stereo sounds great now with the 6x9's. Can't wait for the 4x6's. :leg :leg :leg

I'd actually ditch the 4x6s and go with a 5.25" or 6.5" and look for an amp between 50-70 watts RMS x4. At least it sounds good to me..

ya id go with 5.25s or 6.5s but an amp that does 40-50 rms. i have a 50rms amp and i can tell its a little too much for my 5.25s (references as well)

why are you amping your speakers? your HU isnt powerfull enough? I have kicker 6x9's and stock fronts, stock tweeters off my HU and they blast.
and have a kicker 300.1 amp bumping my 10'' kicker comps...

because when you amp your speakers, everything improves and your speakers can actually perform their best which is impossible off the normal ~20rms a headunit puts out.

amping your aftermarket speakers is always a great idea. i'd get a amp thats beteween 50-70 watts rms, by 4 channels. something like this amp is exactly what you want.

While that may be true, the way my 50% aftermarket 50% stock system (just speakers) sounds now sounds awsome. Ide actually go out on the limb and say it cant sound any better, just louder, which at like 22-23 volume(cant hear anything else) is when it starts to crack...

yes stock speakers mixed with aftermarket speakers on a stock HU cant sound any better. there is no way to get better sound in your car. i dont know why i spent so much money on all my amps and speakers when they dont sound any better then what you've done.

I think that's the way most people view until they've actually been in a car with solid amped speakers. At least that's how I was, the clarity and overall sound quality let alone how loud they can get blows the stock 'loud' out of the water.

I got the 4x6's for my birthday and also for an extremely good deal and its the top Infinity model for 4x6's and they sounded great even with no amp at the store we got them so I'm gunna stick with em. The stereo already sounds amazing with the 2 subs and rear 6x9's, can't wait till I install the 4x6's and amp the 4 speakers.
