I was doing some fine tuning to my system after having it unhooked to mat the trunk. When I closed the trunk I heard a flapping noise. It's coming from a vent like black plastic peice on the passengers side between the trunk space and the outside of the car. Two little rubber flaps just go nuts from the spl. What is this vent for? Will it hurt to cover it up? Would that improve my spl in the car?

I haven't seen that piece, but I would assume it's a pressure realease for when the doors/trunklid are closed. Covering it will make the doors harder to close, that's all....

i made mine stick open, no water gets in it and it keeps my trunk cooler :)
