well my system is pretty much done but now after showing my system to a couple freinds this weekend and actually being outside the car wen its going has showed me something. i would seem to have some pretty serious and annoying vibration issues:

The back bumper one is actually UNDER the bumper. If you look go under your car and look straight up where the rattles coming from, you'll see this black plastic thing that extends from side to side and is coming in contact with the bumper, throw some type of foam or whatever in there and it shall go away.

Trunk noise sorta sounds like a spoiler vibration that I've heard from a Mustang.
Try rubber washers behind your license plate.
Between your bumper and bumper cover you can use the window insulator foam called "Great Stuff", works wonders.
Invest in some high density foam or other sound barriers such as Dynamat or B-quiet.

Do you think i should use those rubber washers for my spoiler, i think it cracked from all the vibrations and it just sounds horrible, it sounds like its raddling from making contact with the trunk too?

What I did was take the little insulator sleeve from around my battery and cut it to fit under my spoiler posts, I didn't have any vibrations from it after that. If you don't have one too, it's like a rubber foam that you usually can find around any car batteries at any auto store.
Black rubber washers would make it sit up too high unless you can find some thin ones, and then your still sorta defeating the purpose and wasting your time.

paul i think most of us have this issue. but i also think most of us dont listen to music while standing outside of our cars. you cant hear it at all inside the car, so whats it matter? not to mention that if you try to fix it with Dynamat and products like that, its really going to add weight to the car. plust its not really a guarnteed fix. it may or may not work. i think thats why most of us dont even f*ck with it. its not worth the time.
also one more thing. if i were you i'd peel off those MMats stickers. you may think it looks cool, and it might, but what your really doing is telling every thief that see's your car what you have. i'm just trying to save you some money, keep them on if you want.

but do most of us have it that bad? i mean i just played a "moderate bass" song at like normal listening volume (around 2/3 the volume). i mean i like my music loud, i always have; thats mostly why I got what i believe to be a nicer system for the average 17 year old.
i mean, isn't all that bad for the car? or should i just kinda forget about it. i mean i could fix the bumper thing, i had it fixed for awhile but it must have shifted or fell out.
thanks for the help/ideas tho guys.

Audio stickers FTL for that reason.

yes most of us have it pretty bad. i can get my bumber to flair out a little. which is kinda funny. needless to say our cars were not built with a the SPL system in mind. and all you hear rattling is plastic, and plastic is made to have some give to it. which is all your hearing. if the bumper were metal a lot of the vibration would be gone, but the car would be heavier. also cars are ment to take the impact in a accident, so you dont. thats one of the reasons why cars are not made of metal like they used to be.
fixable yes. practical when you fix it, or to fix it, not really.

again, you CAN do stuff with it, but i dont think any of us think its worth the time or money.

Umm, there is a metal bumper. What you see is a bumper cover. ;)
But yeah, it's plastic and noisy. And mine has never lined up perfectly at the bottom.

haha so general overall consensus is to just deal with it and forget about it.
is there anything that "does help" thats less expensive to do? why do i see "no" coming for this question...... lol

pretty much. as far as bumper noise anyway. if you were parked a lot, and did 1/2 of your music listening outside your car, then it might be worth it. i dont know about you, but i didnt put all that money in my system so i could stand outside my car and 1/2 ass listen to it.

ok with rear 6x9 speakers i would recommend going with a dynamat speaker kit, that'll solve your problems. Otherwise you would have to construct a more stable mounting location for those speakers to keep it from resonating. As far as the gentlemen with the bumper issue go to home depot grab some insulation in a can about 4 or 5 bucks its the foam type and it expands that should solve some of your problem. The other half lies within the trunk, the part where your hatch is theres two pieces of metal on there that rattle like crazy not much can be done to stop it unless you try that foam, i only used dynamat cured some of it....i would give those suggestions a shot.

I work at an audio shop, i remember doing a lexus es300 with a trunk problem, we managed to fix the spoiler with that liquid insulation i.e small pilot hole and filled the spoiler up.... This small fix can also be used on the actual bumper itself!
