what is the best way to boost the 3400
and ive heard that the rsm supercharger kit isnt that relyable but i cant find anything on eaton/magnasun superchargers, that would bolt up anyway
and i guess that hpturbos is still looking for a grand am to redesign their turbo kit for, they say free tuning and install plus a discount on the kit itself
i would prefer a supercharger so if anybody who knows a thing or two thanks for the help

The rsm supercharger is not relyable like you say and the eaton/magnasun supercharger was a limited edition for our cars; about 12 or 13 of them where made (I believe) actually on the sale thread of the site right now it's one for sale. Don't know much people that is boosting with the hp turbos; must of the people just do their custom setup turbo and what holds must people to do their custom turbo is the manifold/headers for a turbo.
Do a search and you will find plenty of information on the subject. Good luck and let us see some pictures of the setup if you ever do one.
PS. I almost forgot; you can alway use the bottle/spry for some boost; I have heard good review on the ZEX kit (zex.com)

The RSM kit is reliable. The only thing wrong with it are a couple of cheaply and easily replaced bearings and a couple key pins. Once those are fixed (about $20) then the kit is very strong as long as the engine is properly tuned.
As with any boost if you dont tune the engine its going to go boom and the RSM 'tune' is nothing more than a pile of garbage which seems to be why so many have had problems with it.

Yeah, RSM kit has problems but it's fixable. The biggest problem is, it shouldn't have those problems for what the kit costs! You could build a turbo setup for half of what the RSM kit costs. If you can get one for a good price and don't mind being limited in how much boost you can run, I'd pick up a used magnacharger unit if you can find one. They are pretty dependable. Overall though I'd say you're best off with a turbo. If I had to do it over again, with the knowledge and resources I have now, I'd make myself a turbo instead.

As we have seen recently, it is very easy to make a cheap turbo kit from the stock manifolds. You will need to fabricate all of the charge piping, run oil lines, upgrade injectors, and TUNE it.
Im willing to bet half of the guys that recently turboed are going to have some serious engine damage or problems in the next 6 months. Everyone is talking about driving like a grandma and just bumping the fuel pressure a bit so they can run low boost till it can be tuned. Why would you go and spend near or upwards of a grand on building your turbo kit and then skip out on tuning it? Make a trip out to Milzy, zzp, or mp racing to get it tuned. Spend another $400 and learn to tune it yourself. If you have the powertuner you can scan it as often as you like too. That is definitely a nice piece of mind, watching everything realtime and knowing its not going to explode at any minute.
