Someone remind me why I should buy a CAI instead of just making one?

Other than shininess.

Seeing people lay down upwards of $150 for what is essentially a pipe with a filter stuck on the end boggles me.

The work is done for you already, thats why. You can go out and buy the pipe, couplers, filter, and clamps for cheaper than you can buy a CAI. I dont know about you but I care how my car looks too. A piece of rusting exhaust tubing or PVC pipe just doesnt look like you care too much about your car.

Because Jesus said so, and also I think its cheaper to buy a whole one than buy the individual tubing and couplers, and the premade ones are all 1 mandrel piece (I think, I dont actually own one)
