It's a stupid wiring job asking for problems.. Takes less than a minute to pull those wires through the firewall.

Did u not read. ITS COLD HERE. I dont want to run my power wire for my radar detector, power inverter and new lights up front through the firewall when its this cold outside and i dont have a warm garage to work in. It can wait untill spring. Its not going to kill my car to have it that way untill spring.

As for points. Yea he should give him self some for talking about somthing the thread wasent even about.

I hate how everytime i post somthing he slams it. And it wasent even what i was posting about.

You should probably know that Iceman has more knowledge about wiring on a grand am than probably anyone on this site..

Also, it is a hack job. It's just as cold if not colder here, due to lake front, but it isn't THAT cold.

And ON TOPIC..mp racing cai? :D

dude who cares. I never knocked his knowledge of wiring. Its to cold for me. its in the 30's. Which is to cold to be messing around with wiring. And i never said it wasent a hackjob. I said it was TEMPORARY. Which means its not permenant and wont stay there forever.

and what was the "mp racing cai?" comment for?

Its hard to stay on topic with a thread about a cai install, but ill try.

Jee wiz, thats cool! Did you pick up like 2-3 hp? I bet it really moves now!

Aaanyways, the reason people are ragging on the wiring, is because its really not that hard to do it right, and it is dangerous. I saw a pretty bad short when someone did that and ended up getting caught up in the door hinge. Lots of pretty sparks, and it could have ended badly. Not pretty. People here can honestly tell you it takes 5-10 minutes to run a wire through the firewall. Once thats through, you can shut the door and do your finish work in the warmth of the car. Definately worth your time no matter how cold it is.

Ya were just trying to help you out man. Go get on a snow suit and grab a flash light and run it threw the firewall.

Seriously, you need to grow some thick skin for this site, I've been smashed SO many times for the stuff that I've done and said.

Best advice that I can offer is: Shrug it off, make fun of AJ and Sik, and enjoy the site.

^SIK for president.

On topic.. why is it everyone says it only takes 10 mins to wire it through the firewall? The 1st time i tried it...To run my 2 awg wire..took me about 25 min to find the 'firewall'...an hour to make a hole big enough to run it through..and 2 metal clothes hangers..and 5 bandaids..

You do realize that there are pre-existing holes in the firewall to shove more wires through correct?

Yes I did. I found them..but they were covered in a tough rubbery plastic. I had to cut around that plastic to widen it to get the wire through.
