Okay, long story short.
I'm putting some audio stuff in my mother's car.
nothing fancy.
Just some decent sound, since all her speakers are blown.. Since she loads up teh bass then cranks it.

She also has, a 5 disc CD changer in the back that comes with a remote. It's dark out now.. and freezing, otherwise I'd snap a pic of it. But one day she went to McD's... Had a large pop, and left it in the center console... The paper cup disintegrated... leaking the pop all over inside the console... Where the remote control for the CD changer also happens to be, lol. So.. yeah.
That's toasted.

I'm looking for a headunit that she can use for her car, Preferrably able to take advantage of the CD changer, but if not no big deal.. i don't care.
I just want one Without a detachable face plate.
Since she basically never locks her care no matter where she goes.
So I figure with a detachable faceplate that's an easy steal.
She's not worried about people breaking in to a car at all.
So I don't want to put a lot of money in to it, if someone will just pull the faceplate and run.

So... I think a non-detachable faceplate would be best?
Suggestions?
I also need 2 sets of 6 1/2" Speakers... But since my brother works at best buy, he gets 5% above cost discount... we'll buy them there.. Since we're not looking for major quality at all. As long as they can pound a bit, and they're cheap... :p

Maybe even put a 10" sub in the back or something depending on how cheap we can get an amp/sub for... That way she can pound away with the bass and not roast the small 6 1/2s.

Anyone have a headunit suggestion? :s

Yeah, she cranks the bass all the time and it sounds like total crap and the speakers go bad so fast.
So I figure a small sub would make the 6 1/2"s last a little longer.
and give her what she's been wanting.
lol.
since she asked a long time ago.

*edit* Oh, when I was at walmart.
They attach all of the faceplates to the headunits permanently somehow.
So I'm just going to try to figure out how. They said an installer comes and does it all.
So they don't know what he uses.

They come with a small screw that screws into the faceplate locking it on to the radio.
