I was leaving for work yesterday and just as I pulled out of the driveway smoke poured from the defroster and heater vents. The car wasn't warmed up i just jumped in and left.

The smell was similar to that of a burnt garbage bag for those that burn their garbage.

I pulled over and shut the ignition off and opened the doors to air out then jumped back in and started it up to go back to the house and it did it again. when I got back to the house i shut it off and it set for about 2 monutes and i started it again and it didn't do it.

the car set all day and started it again in the evening and it didn't do it again. The blower motor still works and the wipers and lights as well. I have no idea as of yet what it was.

If any one has has had this happen let me know. :postal:

Did you check under the hood to see if a plastic bag got blown/fell onto the exhaust manufold @ the firewall? How bout checking the Accessory Belt, is it worn or frey'd?

just a couple suggestions...
