How To: reflective gt emblems

ok go to walmart or the parts store and look for reflective tape. I got mine from walmart for about 2.00 dollars It is red but some carry white and grey and I have seen yellow at parts stores. don't get lens repair tape. the reflective tape is mad out of a plastic I think but it is like vynle. any ways it is just wide enough to go over you gt emblems. first clean them with some rubbing alchole then cut a strip big enough to go over the emblem and start from one side and work to the other to apply it with no air bubbles I used a exzacto knife from the craft section of walmart to trim mine out you will have more controll than with a razor blade. If you look at the emblim you will see it has a prodominate lip all the way around it. just put your knife aginst that when you trim it and walla you have it. If you follow the lip your knife wont ever touch the paint on your car and also when you are through you will have a black outline around your emblime like your other letters. mine has passed the power washer test and all I have had them on for about a year. when the light shines on them at night they glow. and the best part If one does get messed up for some reason. 2.00 bucks and a trip to wallyworld fixes it no waiting. It took me about 30 mins to do this project. and one package is enough to do all 3 with enough to mess up once. but If you take your time you wont have to do that I would rate this about 2 out of 10 for difficultaly... :wave:

my best idea would be to take some masking tape and go over the letters then use a crayon to make a pattern peel the tape and cut out the letters now you can put the tape onto the reflective tape and cut out your letters. you could also make pieces to go into the divits in your wheels like you see on ebay. this week Im gona do my gts in white and then overlay red flames on them we will see how that turns out...

man i have been everywhere and no one has white reflective tape! i went to walmart to and all they had was red, does anyone know where to find some at?

i would try a place that makes vinyl signs and check and see if they have any scrap peices that you could have more than likely if they do they will give it to you for free

A Truck and trailor supply store would have white reflective tape, as well as orange.

I have a 01 gagt1 coupe and I was thinking of getting some badge overlays.. I think with Black the two best colours are Red and White. I am just going to do the GT overlays I think though because it looks messed in my opinion with the whole badge RED.. Stick with Red though man.. I painted the mani Black with the 3400 SFI RED it looks sick, it matchs the " Ram Air " I also painted the Dipstick red.. With all of these things Red it really puts that personal touch on the engine bay

that is the cheapest and easiest way to do the ref. overlay mod.. i have done my se badges on the sides , the grand am badge on the rear,the pontiac emblem on front and the indention letters on the rear fas... mine is in green reflective tape.. which you can get the following colors at almost any auto parts store which granted some colors you may have to order except for red and white... which can be found at almost any store.. teh following colors are gold,black(white@nite), blue,green,orange,red and silver(white) you could possibly find these colors on ebay purhaps.. i got my reflective tape from a public service store for police and firefighters.. you can check out teh pics on my website
