ok you have to have a little skill here but it is acheivable. I got some plexi glass from the hard ware store. and I pulled my 3rd brake light assm out . I used a dremil tool but a drill and small bit will work along with a jig saw. get glass that has pape on both sides so you don't scrathc it up with the tools. I took the red lens out and traced around it onto the plexi and then cut the plexi out, to the same size. If you have a dremil you can sand it down on the edges. I pulled the rubber out of the red lens carefully and used a dremil tool with a very small drill bit to cut out the center elevated portion of the lens that left me a red ring and the flat part with the holes for the rubber to fit in. you should be able to see this when you are doing it .. now I sanded the edge of my plexi so that it would fit inside of the red ring. I then got on my computer and drew out a checker board pattern with a gt logo in the center. I filpped it backwards on the puter and then printed it on a white sticker sheet or some call it lable sheets you find them at walmart in the office supplies. after i printed it I centered the backwards logo on the back side of the plexi and used an exacto knife to cut out the gt and black portions of the checkerboard and peel them off. next you spray that side with clear paint and immeaditly mist some flat white over it . let it dry well a blowdrier will speed the process. after it dries peel the remaining portion of the sticker off. If the sticker leaves any residue on the glass. use finigernail polish to remove it but be fast and careful becuas it will also take off the paint. now you can peel the paper off the front side of the glass and put the painte side it the red ring. cut the little dots off the back side of the rubber, put a little silicone around the edge of the glass and install the rubber on it. now get the red 194 bulbs at wal mart or a parts store and install them where your existing bulbs were. put the assm back together and bolt it into place. whene I finished mine It looks like a clear lense with gt and checkerboard eched into it . looks cool with the clear tails and my car is white so from a distance you can't even tell I have a 3rd brk light. I will get some pics asap, It sounds like a lot but don't get discuraged. plexi is cheap. I have some industrial grade If any one has trouble finding it maby I could help out:p

My father has a laser engraver and we make awards out of plexiglass on a regular basis. Also we can etch right into the plexiglass to leave a frosted look. I will have to play around next time I am home and see what I can do with it. I had this idea a while back but didn't look into how to attach the plexiglass brake light to the assembly.
