Close,

Old inj (lb/hr)/New inj (lb/hr)=% to multiply the IFR table by...

Example:

20 lb'ers upgrading to 40 lb'ers

20/40=.5

take your entire IFR table and multiply by .5

If you didn't see that thread already, it discusses a couple different methods in depth. I stand by the method I just mentioned.

Ive got an even easier way for you to do it. Open up your powertuner program, open up your bin, get to the injector flow rate table, right click and select "from file", find the imports folder in the PT files you downloaded, and there will be a 42lb injector file already made.

Yep, follow the procedure I used in my thread and you can play with the numbers in the formula if you dont like the end result. My IFR was only off by a tiny bit which I adjusted for before I wrote the file. I ended up doing all my corrections in a matter of 5 minutes to give you an idea of how easy it was.

Jerry's method FTW.

Learn something new everyday. How long has this been a feature?

Are you talking about importing files or that the files are already there? I just found that stuff from ****ing around with the program. There are already MAF tables in there too and some other injector sizes.

Yea I just didn't realize those tables were already there.

That should get it running. In HP Tuners, the table is set up as IFR vs. KPA Vacuum. The settings I found close to optimum for me wound up being less than the calculated value for IFR, about 37 for the Lucas 42.5's, 30.5 for the RC 370-2's. I had issues with both of them. Monitor for misfire codes and recheck the spark plugs even if it seems to be running well.

19.28 lb./ hr........1999 Alero V6, stock

21.31 lb. / hr.......2001 Alero V6, stock

22-23 lb. / hr......Trailblazer ( 28 lb. /hr)

36-38 lb. / hr......Lucas 42.5's

29-31 lb. / hr...... RC Engineering SL2-370, (35 lb. / hr)

I dont know that Id be willing to trust the import folder. The math is really easy to do and then you know that you are getting a very close number to multiply your IFR by. Scans afterwards will let you see if you need to adjust it any more.

Old inj (lb/hr)/New inj (lb/hr)=%

I cant remember if the 00's are using 22.5 lb injectors or 19 lb injectors so Ill do both.

For 19 lb/hr injectors
Old inj (19)/New inj (42.5)= .447%

For 22.5 lb/hr injectors
Old inj (22.5)/New inj (42.5)= .5294%

Old inj (22.5)/New inj (42.5)= .5294%

so what id do is take .5294....im running the stock 22 pounders....and click custom after i highlight the whole injector flow rate table...type in .5294 and that should be all?

Correct.

make sure in step 1 that you set it to be "percentage" instead of "fill" or "units"...

also if you type in .5294 you will end up with 1.964074.. which is WAY OFF... you need to type it in as 52.94 which gives you 196.4074 which is as close as you are gonna get using the formulas given... there is a much more complicated/involved way of accurately figuring IFR but the way listed above will get you pretty damn close...

Glad you caught that Mark, I cant believe I forgot to move the decimal.

i found 196 mSec/g to be about 40.5 lb/hr

42.5/7.9366=5.354g/sec

1/5.354=.1868sec/g or 186.8mSec/g is equivilant to 42.5lb/hr

I would stick to the table from the imports folder, those values were probably tested by someone at different pressures as the values in that table vary from 197.4 to 192.6. I can't imagine somone just randomly came up with those numbers.
