View Full Version : Fuel Overflowing Problem

Hello, I need some help. I got done with changing out my fuel pump and I got a check engine light came on. Then I went to fill up my tank, and it just overflowed, the fuel pump at the station never shut off like it should've when it was full. Any ideas? The filler tube was a little kinked, but all the other lines looked fine. Is there a valve back there or something, or could it be that kinked filler tube? Thanks.

So, I reset the computer, put a new cap on and unkinked the filler tube. The check engine light went off, took the cap off a couple of times and started the car a couple times and it stayed off. Went to put gas in it today, and the light came back on. So the light stays off even with the cap off until gas is put in the car. Any thoughts.
