Anyone ever switch back to regular coolant when they do/did the LIM job/repair? Any reason why this can't or shouldn't be done. I'd just as soon dump the Dex-cool and go back to the good old green stuff.

yes it's been done, I'm running on green antifreeze right now, no issues with it, although it's not going to prevent LIM from failing, but less gunk. Although when you have oil and any kind of antifreeze mixing, it'll still have buildup.

I'll be doing the LIM job on both my GA's in the next week, as preventative maintenance. I want to get it done before any issues come up. I'm going green on both. I didn't think there would be any reason it would matter, but I just wanted to do a little checking. Thanks for the replies

just make sure to flush ALL of the old stuff out before pouring in the green stuff, I hear mixing the two is really bad, you'll have clogging.

put a water hose into the heater core hose and the other end into a bucket and flush that, take the drain plugs out of the block and drain that, and you should flush that out with water too.
