when i put it into drive sometimes the tranny goes right into gear but some times it doesnt...and wen i hit the gas it just revs and doesnt move so i stop and then i will feel it go into gear and then it will get going and it will start slipping again. once its into second its perfectly fine. is there anything that i can do 2 fix this with out swaping trannys?

wouldnt that be something with the clutch packs or something?

yeah, just read the thing about it only happening in first gear, definitely could be. When I burned my reverse clutch packs the tranny made a whistling/whining noise whenever it was in that gear and the car was stopped or moving slower or faster than it moves at idle.
. No way to precisely determine what the problem is without disassembling the tranny. If your mechanic knows his stuff he should be able to make a pretty accurate guess during a test drive.

Its not the rebuild thats going to cost you, its the labor to pull it out and put it back in. Id plan on at least $1200. My truck cost me $1800 and it burned out twice which is why I got the GA.
