i have a 99 grand am gt. and when the car has sat over night or a long period of time it will turn over slowly then start. but if i start it then turn it off and start it back up it will be fine. so i went 2 advanced and they put my battery on a tester and they said that the battery is fine so i was wondering what else can there be that would make my car do this. could this be a sign of the starter going bad?

did you have any luck with the swap of a new starter?

i also have a 99 that seems to have an odd start
it never has trouble cranking the engine, it's just sometimes it starts in a couple cranks or 1 second.
and other times, seems almost random, it just takes a few more times. a little gas and it goes right away
i probably only does this 1 in 15 times or so.
i have heard that if your fuel pump is beginning to go, it can cause this in the beginning, along with a sticky fuel gauge which i also have...
