Anybody have experience tuning with an Electromotive Tec III? If so how do you like it?

sorry no help to you but:
spy, when I was looking at tec 3 awhile back the tec guru's were saying that since the pcm controls the gauges and dummy lights in the alero (and grand am obviously) they didn't think there was a way around that and that all new gauges would have to be wired in (dummy lights weren't a big deal)
know if there is any truth to that?

not even on my car yet, so I couldn't tell you.
However, I do have a feeling when there is a will there is a way as long as you know what you are doing and know what you need to do to set things up proper.
My option was a laptop, and when when I got extra cash to a full Autometer gauge cluster.

Doubt anyone here would have any experience with it, or at least with a grand am. Tec3 won't control automatic transmissions, so unless you have a manual swapped car or are tuning a 4cyl manual... and well, you know how many people here are doing that. ;) You're on the leading edge of that movement. So unless they've used one on another car, I doubt anyone here has any experience with them.

I had a good idea that almost nobody has one on an n-body let alone a j-body.
I was hoping I would have at least someone who's messed around with it on some car though. :-\

I think there was at least 1 person who's been on 60V6 that has used one (well, probably a TEC-II) on one of these engines. Maybe I'll do a search for you... ;)
