NYC Int'l Auto Show 4/18 - 4/27

Hey guys. I thought you'd all be interested to know that the dates for the NYC Auto Show at the Javits Center are April 18th - April 27, 2003. This is ten trillion times better than the Philly show, since I know a lot of u guys were very disappointed. NY will have more new stuff, including 2004's and concepts. Hell, it's in the city too... It's $10 to get in, but groups of 10 or more can save a $1. Here's the website if u wanna take a look for urself. http://www.autoshowny.com

...yup... i'll be going... the Philly show is usually everything that NY had the year before... so all this stuff should be new... i usually go on Easter Sunday though, which i know is a problem for people...

Ok, how about in order to avoid any Easter-type conflicts...anyone who's interested, how does Friday April 25th, or Saturday April 26th sound? I know it's still kinda far away to know anything for sure...but we can start thinking about it.

Those dates are pretty good. Luckily my classes finish the weekend before. . otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make it. When talking Friday, are all of us going to take off work? I don't know if I will take off, since Carlisle will be the following month and I'm probably taking a day off for that. Saturday seems the easiet for me at least.

Just keep the weekend open, so plan to take off work or get sitters or whatever ya'll need to do if u wanna go.

Just thought I would throw up here that it looks like I will be rolling up to the NYC show the weekend of the 19th & 20th. I'll be taking I-95 from northern Baltimore. My buddy lives near Middletown NY and is going to meet me somewhere around the Teaneck area and take us in. Let me know if anyone is intersted in following, etc.

Miguel~ I'll be leaving from Delaware most likely...Depends what day we all decide on going, cuz if we end up going on a Saturday, I might just go home that Thurs after class n see my family too. Don't kno for sure tho.

Ok, well I kno it's still far away, but I figured I'd check back w/ whoever is still interested. Anyways, turns out the original weekend (April 25ish) I sorta randumbly picked isn't gonna work for me cuz it's Skate n Surf in Asbury.

Sooo...cuz of class etc, I'm aiming to def go either April 18, 19, or 20 -- Easter means jack to me since I don't celebrate, but I kno a lotta u guys do...

k, well that's my deal. What's everyone thinking now that it's been a month?

Yeah, i'm still in, depending on when we go...not sure if i can make it the weekend of the 18th (etc) cuz 1-it's Easter and 2- my b-day is the 17th, so i plan to be wrecked that weekend (until sunday of course)

sure, why not...i did it this year on Thanksgiving...couldn't eat a bite and still managed to drive to Pitt that day (of course, i put a nice dent in Tony's turkey when i got there....hehehe)

Ok well I went this past Saturday w/ my dad n I took a lotta pics, n then halfway thru the battery died, just as I was taking a pic of the Lamborghini. I got shots of the Pontiacs of course, some concepts, n a laundry list of others. I'll post some pics once I get a chance to load them on my comp. I seriously have tons...

As for the show, it was def kickass. The GTO I didn't think was much of anything special, but that's just my opinion. As for the concepts, the 16 cyl, 1,000 hp Caddy was insane, Pontiac's was interesting, the new Mustang looks soo badass, the Toyota FJ Kruiser is really funky, Infinity made 1 w/ gallwing doors, I noticed a heavy trend of 2-tone interiors... As for real cars, 2004 Mustangs now seem to come w/ the option of the chameleon paint, the new Stratus strangely resembles the rear of the GA, Mercedes S 600 comes w/ this neat sparkly pearlescent glitter paint, the Celica has some kinda of a kit...

Anyways, we spent nearly 4 hrs on the top floor, then rushed thru the bottom cuz my dad wanted to leave by 6. W/o thinking about it too much, I think that pretty much sums it up. :D
