hey guys, im glad to be here on the new board...

i just had a quick question, my cigarette lighter wont work...i dont smoke, so i dont know how long its been broken...i have no clue why its not working...
i thought it was a fuse, but when i checked under the hood, theres no fuse in the box for the lighter... is there a fuse somewhere else? i checked the door panels and under the hood...
the manual says the lighter fuse would be in the engine bay fuse box...but theres nothing there...

what should i try to do with it? i just need it for a power source...but if its not getting power its usedless...so i need to get it working...

any suggestions?

There IS a fuse for it in the engine bay fuse block. If the fuse is absent, put in the appropriate fuse... 10amp I think?

yeah its prolly a 10amp, but if there is no fuse there to begin with, and the cigarette lighter isnt working, what should i look for next? how do i fix it?

There HAS to be a fuse in line for the cigarette lighter to work, if there isn't one there, put one in. It sounds like a shoddy mechanic did a temporary solution and took an unimportant fuse and did a switcheroo

there is a fuse. I have changed it before. I don't know where it is but check underhood, both side of the dash

I've somehow managed to blow the fuse in my lighter about 6 times. Something's goofy with it. I thnk I may have overloaded something when I used to plug in my lighted fuzzy dice into it, and it'd blow. :(

Hey, you might want to try the connection to the lighter, which is usually behind the lighter. Just pry off your middle dash and reach back there to see if your lighter is correctly plugged in. Hopefully, this will help you.

yeah, my cig lighter kept blowing fuses. the fuse is in the black "fuse relay center" box by the driver side strut tower.

I think I put a 15 amp in my 98 and now it works fine...all the other ones blew in like 5 seconds...oh well!
