How easy is it to remove these parts? Furthermore, if i take them off, will i have to replace the gaskets when putting them back on or will that not be a problem? I want to take off my valve covers to paint them along with my UIM.

Any tips or suggestions would be great.

Pretty easy to do. I would suggest replacing the gaskets, especially the UIM. The valve cover gaskets can be reused if they are newer and there is no damage to them.

Basically you have to remove the air duct, MAF, TB, coil pack, and MAP sensor. All easy to do. Should be able to do this in under an hour with moderate mech skills. I just had to do the same thing for the second time and it only took me 30 mins or so.

how much do the gaskets usually run?

UIM gaskets are usually less than 10, valve cover gaskets should be similar.

Just hope you can get the UIM on its own. I tried to and they only had the upper and lower set together...

If that is the case I have a pair of UIM gaskets unused that I will mail to you for the cost of shipping which should be a few bucks since they should fit in a large envelope.

If you're gonna put em in an envelope I'd suggest sticking some cardboard in it too to prevent the gaskets from being ripped...

I'm not sure what problem lone_wolf025 had but you can take the upper intake manifold off by itself without removing the lower intake manifold. What I am curious about though, is how did he get to the vertical bolts that hold down the LIM with the UIM was still attached?

He was referring to the buying the gaskets on their own not taking it apart.

you can get the upper alone at the dealership they are only like 8 or 9 bucks for the 2 gaskets.
