price of stock hood vs scoop hood

ok guys so i will keep it short .got into a accident today .lady ran a red light and i smoked her and in the process my whole front end is done...no worries her insurance co paying for it but now since i have the stock hood which needs to be replaced and always always wanted the scoop hood you think there is a major price difference? like my car is a 2000 and since i think 2003 all grand am hoods stock was with the scoops so if i wanted the new hood you think there would be a price differenece?

Yes, a pretty large difference. And not all '02.5+ GAs had the SC/T hood.

Get the prices before you make a choice. You might have to add some money but the installation and paint is paid for. The is absolutely the best time to get a new hood.

called a local dealership and stock hood is $369 + tax not painted and the scoop hood is $1625 + tax not painted ...wow thats a huge difference ..can't afford the differenece oh well i tried lol

Try going used, or gmpartsdirect. Thats the cheap route.

ya i did there cheap but i have to deal with the guy at the shop i left a message to see whats happening with my car .so i wanne see what he is going to do and where he is getting the parts from .i wanne ask if i order or if they can order it so i will see what he going to do

If you want to, check out salvage yards in you area for either hood.

You can get a used stock hood for $50 -$100. I got my used SD hood for $500 and it was already painted in my color. $1625 + is ridiculous.
