Later today we will have listed on our store a front big brake kit that will allow you to greatly reduce your stopping distance by increasing your rotor size to 12" and also upgrading your calipers to dual piston units.
The kits are complete bolt-on parts that include all required hardware/brackets to work with our stock mounting points.. also included in the base kit is a set of Ceramic pads. There will be options for swapping to Carbon Metallic Pads as well as 3 choices in rotor styles (flat, slotted, drilled and slotted). The rotors are not part of the base kit since people may want to source the rotors on their own. Another option will be to add stainless brake lines to the package. (price for such option has not been worked out)
These will require the use of 17" rims though it should be noted that some Grand Am owners have used their stock 16" rims without issue to date.
Base kit w/o rotors starts at $325.99 w/OEM style rotors - $398.99

Yup...i DO need to replace the brakes on the ho right about now. Everything else is being rehabbed, I'm definitely looking to do brakes also. This really is tempting. Damn the gf and her needs for expensive vacations and diamond rings. I want big brakes!

Would you really want a caliper that said "Corvette" on your pontiac?
Maybe GTO calipers....

The "corvette" lettering is raised on the calipers. So even if you paint over it, it's still there.
I'm not sure there is much difference between the C6, XLR and GTO calipers. They all look identical. You can also get PBR calipers that are the same with no logos at all.

Can you grind the lettering down a bit w/ a Dremel or something?

IF you really wanted to, but at that point you should've just got GTO calipers.
