I'm currently using a DHP PCM purchased used off of another GAGT member.
It's for a '99, same as my car. It runs fine and and works great.
However, I know the VIN is wrong...

But, Will I see a benefit getting one from like Milzy or MPRacing tuned for my car and its mods?
I have a CAI coming, so that will be CAI + Pacesetter exhaust.

Should I continue with the PCM I have?
Or order a new one?

I assume the cost of getting the DHP tuned would be upwards of $50+, so I figured it may just be better to buy a new one.
Not to mention I have to find someone with the DHP Powertuner locally (which I believe I know a place that has one)

Well, the generic DHP pcm (v1.0) is meant for a car with basic mods already like CAI, exhaust, thermostat... so it should already work well when you get those mods.

That said, a custom tune will still usually yield a little more than a generic pcm because the generic is tuned on the safe side of fueling and ignition timing to account for differences between cars. You of course have to either go to the tuner or find someone local with a tuner to do it for you. The DHP v1.0 is locked though so they will be basically making you a whole new tune. I'd say it would be worth it just to get a fresh tune and to update your VIN just because it should match your car. You should probably contact Mark at MP racing. He'll be able to help you out, at least with a good tune through the mail if nothing else. :)

Thanks =)
At least if I do it that way, I have the DHP PCM I can send in for core... Instead of sending in my stocker in case I ever need to switch back =)

edit; figure i'll just wait until he has a sale and then grab the CAI + PCM =)
