Ok, so here it is. I'm having some major KR issues and I can't get rid of them since the 5spd swap. I've attached my .csv file from my last scan last night and a copy of my .bin tune file. Could some of the turbo guys have a look and share your ideas.

Take a close look at the injector PW. Around 4000RPM and up, they are only open around 10 ms, which I think is why I'm getting knock. Too lean. I compared an old scan from last year, and the same range, they where open around 13 ms. I've pulled back a little bit more timing to try to fix it, but no-go. I've pulled about 5 degrees in all the 680 mg/cyl. timing cells from around 4000 RPM and up, still no change. It's got to be the fuel in my mind.

The other thing I tried is adding an extra 20% of fuel to the A/E at anything above 70% throttle, but I still got knock. ( I tried to get a scan, but it screwed up, but the results where the same, computer was seeing around 5 deg. KR)

Is anyone with a good safe tune for around 8psi willing to share there .bin file with me for the DHP software?

Any help is appreciated guys.

Thanks.

Several things to address here:

1)http://scandepot.net/viewscan.php?pk=5277 its easier to view these if you put them on scandepot ;)

2)Your LTFT's aren't locking in at 0 (or within 1%) at WOT right away... this will make tuning more difficult as WOT fueling will vary depending on LTFT lock in. A quick MAF tune will remedy this.

This tool will help you: http://theblattners.com/projects/tablemodifier/Default.html

See http://wiki.opentuner3800.com/index.php?title=Tuning_Your_MAF_Table for more info.

3)Too much timing. I see 25+ degrees of timing in boost in that scan. I know aaron said he runs stock GFS on his setup but really 17* of timing in boost is nothing to be ashamed of.

4)Scan for O2's... even if its just a narrowband... if you're running consistantly low 800's or 1000's we can tell which direction you need to go with the fuel.

I'll include the PEvsTIME that is running on angrysk8rs car. Your wot o2's will be much more consistant (relative to a specific WOT run) with this table.

If you choose to run that PEvsTIME table you will definately need to reduce your base PE to at least 12.0

I would lower your timing in boost until you've rid yourself of your KR. Use the narrowband to get fueling in the ballpark. Then add back timing until you hit KR again.

Play around with the table modifier tool as well, it can take your scan data and tell you which cells in your GFS table are giving you the KR.

Edit: I cannot say that I have tried to tune fueling via acceleration enrichment tables however the consensus on the powrtuner forums is that it has severe flaws and isn't as effective as tuning via PE tables. You may want to put your AE's back to stock.

2nd Edit: Reduce your PE_enable_TPS down to the lowest throttle percentage you can hit boost with... its likely your engine has been seeing some boost at 14.7:1 fuel ratios ...

Thanks for the info. I'll start with those tips tonight and let you know how that works out.

****!!! So I tried to update my "table modifier thingy" last night with the latest version which is a .rar file. When I dowloaded a version of winrar to open it, I ended up with a wicked computer virus. After messing around for 3-4 hours last night trying to download some virus software, I gave up and handed my laptop over to the tech guy at work. Hopefully I'll have it back for the weekend to be able to do some proper tuning.

Odd, That site is owned by a well respected tuner in the powrtuner community. He adjusted some tables I can't view with the PT just the other day... Not to mention plenty of people use the table modifier... Did you get the update from his site?

No, no worries. I didn't get the winrar program from his website. I probably should have. Oh well, it's all fixed now. So the tuning continues now.
