got the cam in, got it running, but i got a maf code...tried cleaning the resistors and it ran a litle better, cleared the code and it came back, so went and got a new maf...put it in, got a maf code again...and the idle sweeps between 500 and 900-1000...i know most you guys will say vacuum leak but how?...i just resealed the WHOLE motor....T.I.A!

jay I had the same thing when I had tried doing my turbo. After taking the whole top end off and putting back on replacing gaskets and what not it still was bouncing rpms. I drove it to the corner and back and it died 3 times. When I pulled it in the garage, let it sit and started it up it randomly ran fine and still to this day is running good. I don't know if there was air in the fuel lines or something from having the battery disconnected for a while but like I said it radomly cleared itself up.

Curious to know how you managed to change the cam without pulling the motor.....

It can be done through the wheel well. Major PITA but when you have the whole front end disassembled it isn't as bad.

yah, i just dropped the cradle on the pass side ALOT...and the driver side i suppported with a jack and loosened it up so it can come down the little bit more i needed...and i managed to pull the cam out WITHOUT the gear connected...DEF helps to have air tools...as which i do...EVERYTHING is tight...and you gotta be careful if anyone ever decides to do this not to strip out the 3 bolts that have the heads cut in half...this is dont so they will clear the belt and pulleys...theyre hard to get out when stripped...lol i kno
::edit::figured it out, a had a busted maf wire for a signal wire...fixed that and whAAlAA

Well G/L for a while it was starting to seem like no one would get it since everyone is selling their setups. Hopefully someone will buy one of the two turbo setups for sale right now and put them to use because I would like to see some more people getting good numbers out of their GA.

you should look into wrapping that intake piping with some heat sheilding ;)
