Hey can anybody tell me what the normal running temp for a 2000 Gand Am 3.4 litres is? I think mine might be runnning hot but not all the time.The thermostate has already been changed by the previous owner,just wondering if thats normal and if not what could be the probleme. thx for the help.

About 180-190 is the norm, IIRC.

it sometimes runs at 193 and occasionaly a bit more ayideal what could be causing that and is there anything to be worryd about?

Anything below 216 is considered acceptable. That's when the cooling fans usually turn on high speed.

You're fine. Don't worry about it. Sitting around in traffic on a hot day I would see as high as 210+. If you're seeing 193 normally you're all good.

Anything from about 90C to 106C / 195F to 223F.
But it could climb to 110C / 230F before the high speed fans turn on.

I am having the same problem. Mine is sitting at 200 but it overheats. Seems like my fans never kick on.

your fans wont kick on at 200, what do you mean by it over heats?
