With a typical kit you don't get highbeams. Arguably you won't need the high beams anymore, but the glare from stock housings is pretty bad.

Yeah I got some ccfl halo projectors so the if there is any glare I can just adjust them right?

projectors won't glare with the hid's. you might have to cut your header panel to get them to aim right though.

Low beams are way more than enough, I have 8000k with stock headlights and at night have at least 5 cars flash there brights at me. The pontiacs do not have the standard cover over the front of the bulb like most vehicles so lights are much brighter.

i don't recommend them for the stock housings because of the horrid glare. and 8,000 is a little crazy too, how do you see in the rain? i have 5,000's and they are great.

I had a question about HID's. I have aftermarket lights with "HID" lights, but they are only HID bulbs. Someone told me to check junkyards for HID's from BMW/Lexus/Acura's ... etc.

How easy (or viable) is it to use those lights with the aftermarket lights? And how would I go about installing them with the stock wiring / power source.

Sounds like that person was telling you to do a retrofit. You basically take the projector out of it's original housing and mount it in your light housing.

It is the best way to go about putting HID in you your car, but it is time consuming and requires some skill. There are several members on the board who have done it, boost21 has done several of them. The reason it is the best is because you are using a projector that was originally designed for HID.
