so i was bored tonight and decided to poke around a couple auto sites. i went to dodge.com and looked at the challenger http://www.dodge.com/en/2009/challenger/ . anyways i cant believe the base model comes with the old intrepid motor that also is found in minivans and with so much side wall, such tiny wheels, and WHEEL COVERS.
whats beasty about that?

It's a base model for people that can't afford the $42,000 price tag but still want a Challenger, plus it would be good for people that would want to put a different motor in the car and not pay for the Hemi or someone that wants nice wheels and not pay the stupid price for aluminum wheels and then just replace them.

I've seen one up and close, and its pretty much like getting in a $20k Chrysler product that has a decent looking body.

Its for middle aged and/or ***** whipped men with wives that won't allow them to spend 30-40k on a car. It is the best looking dodge product but I can't imagine it being very fast.

I don't get why you're surprised
look at the Charger, same thing...
look at the 300, same thing...
the base model of most non-luxury vehicles looks similar, I don't particularly like it, but I'm also not surprised.
It's just how they get into some peoples' price range to sell more vehicles
it still pushes 250hp which isn't bad at all...
Thats not at the wheels, and the car weighs 3800 lbs.

This car I can understand having a base model.
a car like the vette coming with a base model i wont understand
the ZR1 will push supercar status and im sure it will come in a base model
the Z06 snaps the needle in the blink of an eye yet it has a base model
I dont see any base model lambos or ferrari
either way
