Got them done this morning. :leg They charged me $40 for them. I was a bit too worried about messing them up. I might buy a single tail later to learn... lol

I cut mine in half and added like an inch in the middle to make it fit.

WOW!! Thanks for being an :asshat on this AJ.
Let see...
Buying a used set or even one tail w/ shipping included: average low is $20 to $60 on E-Bay
or
Possibly buying the tail(s) from a junkyard.. $20 - $30.
VHT Niteshades (1 can) w/ shipping included: $18 to $20 on E-Bay
Having to buy extra sh1t if needed.... Unknown $$
Savings on having them done professionally??? Equal or more...
When I have the time/chance to learn, then I will. Right now, I'm in school. When the auto craft shop here opens around 1100. I start class @ 1200 and don't get out until 1830. By then, they are closed. Personally, I would have rather had a professional do this set than a novice like me.
SO...:tongue3:

lol lol. Bug him enough and he'll either give in or just get pissed off and never do them... lol
Yeah. I've been looking at tips. Seen a few that I like...
Hey Cory... WTF did you use as a filler for the middle area?
i think GTLUVA was the only one here who actually did the cut the rear lip mod. at least the body shop did. im sure you might be able to find an old thread with pics. i assume they used some sort of filler.
myself along with others just put a bolt or something in there to tighten them together. it can be hidden by your exhuast.
tails look good. im sure its the sun making the one on the left look lighter. $40 doesnt sound too bad for what looks like a good job.

that's actually not necessary. the reason it doesn't fit is cuz the double sided 3M tape adds thickness to the inside of the rear lip. My didn't wanna fit either, but after playing with it, i removed the tape, and you drilled holes on each side first, then you add some adhesive to the center section and slide it up inside the groove and it's actually stuck in there and the adhesive holds it. I used a 5 minute setting adhesive ( it looked just like JB weld, but had a different name and holds on awesome, never had it fall off.

Looks great. I think the white cars look awesome with tinted tails.
I may have to send you the spare set of tails I have here to get them tinted. I can't get Niteshades shipped through APO and so far I hadn't found anyone willing or able to tint them for me. Shoot me a PM if you would be willing to help out. I'd pay shipping and throw in a little cash for your help.
