I had my car bog down and get hardly any acceleration when pressinbg the gas pettle....PCM shot me a P0404 code...ok EGR valve. Replaced EGR, cleaned the MAF, throttle body, and new air filter...same problem still...then replaced the upstream O2 sensor and checked and cleaned all the spark plugs....still having the same prob. Only have ~ 94K miles on it. Is it the catalytic converter? why would this be?? Any help would be great.

Is this a faulty GM part or something? I thought the CAT was to last a lot longer....about how many miles did you have whenn it got clogged??

Ok, but under Federal Warranty any CATs that go bad before 8 years/80,000 miles will be replaced free of charge.
Doi you know where I can order a direct fit for my 2001 GAGT?

Do these cover CA emissions as well? Need to make sure since I live here and there are different laws...thanks again for your help.

i don't see why they wouldn't, they have the o2 sensor in the same place.
and it never threw any codes on my computer.

I see some that are OBDII 49 state compliant (they are cheaper) and a few for CA which are pricy....any ideas??

it's your choice..
I imagine Cali is not one of those 49 states.

Yep....clogged CAT, what a bunch of crap. There is a TSB for the 2001 models but the GA is not covered by GM. They built a defective CAT but want more moola..
just replaced it today and back to normal! Thanks.
