Does anyone have an idea of how to paint the uim another color because i would like it to be black with a silver 3400 sfi... there is no how to and nothing in the visual mods. PLus does anyone know a good paint to use, i know it needs a high heat resistance...

proceed to autozone/generic autoparts establishment of choice, buy 180* spraypaint, clearcoat, sand paper (a few varying grits) and drive back home. remove UIM, clean/sand said UIM. apply color of choice in thin layers. apply clearcoat once dry. install, enjoy.

And he will also need to purchase a new gasket correct? to re-apply the uim.

Yes it's usually a good idea to replace them especially if they haven't been replaced before.

well i didnt replace my gaskets but they were fairly new... and i shouldnt need a how to on it. just take it off tape off what u want to be one color and paint it then wait for it to dry... then tape off the other part and paint again. wait for it to dry... and walah painted uim... or atleast thats what i did. look at it in my garage. but if ur looking for the shiney glossy look ull need to put time into sanding and clear coat.
