not in the budget. This gt is cheap and the guy has owned it since new. He claims all of the oil changes and any other regular stuff was done at the dealer. I will for sure check the 8th digit of the VIN to see if its E. I hope not this car is a beauty. I will be sure to ask if the headgaskets or any other gaskets are replaced. Knowing they might go again, if they do class action lawsuit here i come. Its fully loaded with 6-waypower seats and leather. I just hope it wont have to many problem but dont expect it to because the guy has all receipts and reports and everything done at dealer. Wish me luck for tonight that the 8th digit is NOT E. Thanks alot.

oh yeah i forgot a damage report:
Rear driver door.
Rear quarter panel.
New braking system.
New rim and rubber.
New brake and brake drum.
New trunk metal lining underneath.
Drivers rear tire bent inwards.
Broken passenger axle.
Miscellaneous parts underneath.
Frame damage or undercarriage.
Drivers door wont open at all.
When i went to see it at my friends body shop it took four turns of the key to start. I think fuel lines are messed up due to the rough start. Im hoping to get $2,000-$3,000 for this car. I hope... Oh yeah the brand new exhaust got bent to the side. I just got it replaced from the cat back!

Whats wrong with grand ams? I personally only like 99-05 but im not sure why your ripping on them. Decent gas mileage, Pretty damn good pick up esp when you start modding it, looks damn good and i havnt had one problem with it at all. Its called taking care of it, and theres a decent amount of aftermarket parts. I love mine and i would go as far as to say i would almost want another when, when this one goes (dont plan on that for years).
so dont be :hay::hay::amraam::asshat

Well, considering I had nearly 5k of warranty work done on my car since I had it (bought it new, had it for 7.5 years). I sold it with only 64k on the odometer. I might add that I did regular oil changes every 3-4k. I switched to synthetic at 15k and the car was is next to excellent condition when I sold it.
LIM 2x
Water pump 2x
Power Steering pump 1x
Control Arm 1x
Rack & Pinion 1x
Rotor's turned 1 or 2x
Cruise Control Module 1x
Rear Light assembly 1x
There's more, but those are the big ticket items. I loved my car to death, but if I didn't have a warranty on it I don't know what I would have done.

well just made the purchase. My first look at it ever. It was completely spotless with no scratches or dents AT ALL. It drives like it just came off the showroom floor (literally) and no rust. Not even underneath. The LIM has been changed at 50,000 but thats not to say it wont go again. I checked where the gasket is and saw a little tiny spot but nothing to freak out about. If it does go again i will be filing a class action law suit since im in Canada. Very happy with the purchase. the guy was very honest and is giving us all receipts and the original brochure. He even still has the BBQ that came with the car when he bought it new. Look forward to seeing you guys. Ill post pics and vids when we get the car.Thanks.

Head gasket problems are not that common on this car. It's the lower intake gaskets that go. But if they have been replaced already and if they used the right gaskets and did it properly... you shouldn't have any problem with those either for a long time. And you don't get any class action law suit for failed LIM gaskets. They were covered under warranty until the revised design came out.
The E in the vin code would be for the LA1 v6. It's only going to be that or T for the LD9 inline four... shouldn't you already know which engine it has in it if you are going to look at the car? The engine in the car should be listed in any classifieds or ask about it on the phone before you would go look at the car.

Yeah im a big noob! I didn't realize that the E stands for the v6. The guy said he had the gaskets changed and most likely done at the dealer. I hope they were done right. I meant the LIM for everything i said about headgaskets. Sorry.
