Ok so I have the stock GA headlights, with Hyper green 9007 bulbs. Came out of my cousins Dakota, same bulb number yada yada yada. Anyways, Ive had em in for like 5 months, but Ive been around cars all my life, worked in a Body Shop, and not once seen a headlight bulb burn out just the low beam. Ive seen 3157 bulbs do it, but not a 9007.

Any insight on this? I have to go buy headlights now, because Im not a prick who drives with high beams on and my tool box is in storage in another town til I can bring it here, otherwise I would realign them. Im hesitant to spend money on Silverstar Ultras til I hear back.

If you still have regular bulbs laying around, just put those back in to test if it works with those.

If its just one bulb that went out its possible its a fluke. If both went out at near the same time then it might be a switch issue as IIRC each side is controlled by seperate relays and fuses.

I don't recall, does the 9007 not have dual filaments for high and low?

yeah thats def a possiblilty.
ebay usually has some SU's for about 30 shipped. IIRC autozone is like 50 bucks for a pair.

I'd imagine its just one of the filaments burned out. Try switching the bulbs to see if the other one has the same problem if you dont wanna spend the money on a new set without knowing.

Ive changed so many headlight bulbs before in wrecked vehicles, and yeah 9007s are dual filaments, it just struck me odd that it would go out, and they arent that old of headlight bulbs. I never touch them with my bare hands either, I know from school and working in a shop that skin oils shorten the life of them drastically. I went and got some Silverstars and sure enough they work, but I went ahead and double checked the bulb and the filament is fully intact. Im gonna mess with it and swap it to the other side for S and Gs. I really wish I woulda had my tool box here. Without my clip pliers it was a b!tch getting that radiator support cover and front bumper clips out.

On a side note, after christmas Im buying me some new headlights. Im thinking the single Halo Projector and putting the black vinyl over the amber reflector, it would essentially be an all black headlight, and have the projector. Opinions? Im diggin the one projector look over the dual and I havent seen alot of it, looks alittle meaner.

I must not be envisioning the parts correctly cuz it sounds like you did a lot of work to get the headlights out. I take it you don't have the factory ram air setup? Though, I must say that a pocket knife (not a swissarmy knife) comes in handy quite nicely in the process of lens removal...among other things.

I'm gonna guess he meant the clips above the bumper grilles that hold the ramair/radiator shroud.
