View Full Version : Having shop replace intake manifold gaskets

The previous thread on this subject has been closed. Read through it and just had a couple of questions.....

Can anyone list the parts they were charged for, so I can just cross-reference it with what the shop I'm takin my baby to is charging me for.

I plan on ordering all the parts myself and taking it to a professional...I don't have this much know-how ....yet.

Lower intake gasket set: Includes upper intake gaskets and 8 LIM bolts if using GM parts
2 x Valve cover gaskets
Oil pump drive O-ring.
Timing cover to heater bypass pipe o-ring
Heater core outlet to thermostat housing o-ring
1 gallon Dexcool
1 tube Engine sealant. (RTV silicone)
1 tube Blue Loc-Tite.

its like 80 bucks for a LIM kit... than you need coolant

Do you have anyone at all with experience that can help you? If you do, I'd definitely do it yourself. I learned a sh!t-ton doing mine with the help of someone that knew what they were doing. Not to mention the money that would be saved.
