Okay, so I went to a local exhaust shop and got quoted for an exhaust for my car. I was looking for a catback and hi-flo cat converter. The guy offered me a Magnaflo cat converter, Magnaflo muffler, and aluminized steel pipes with mandrel bends and ends. No tips offered. He said it would be around $350 installed. I asked for stainless steel pipes, but he said he couldn't do that and would instead coat the pipes with HPC coating, but it would double the price.

Question I have is would the exhaust last driving around an area like Oklahoma and N. Texas? I'm not sure how good of a deal this is for a custom job, anyone have any input?

That seems like a good price, atleast from our stand point up here.
The OEM exhausts aren't stainless steel from my knowledge, and they do last a good 10 years or so before being replaced. I think you should be fine. If done properly, would probably outlast your car itself.

Okay the price is good especially if you are having a garage put it on. But are for the coating, if you get a high temp paint that resists corrosion you should be fine. There is no reason for the guy to charge you double. You can even paint the stuff after its been installed, just make sure you have a piece of card board to place behind it so you don't get your undercarriage.

Please don't tell me that you're using an OBD2 scanner to calculate HP because those are no where near accurate in comparison to a dyno. Assuming that your only mod is a glasspack, there's no way you were running 218 HP or even 205 HP to the wheels or even at the crank.
