ok so how much oil do you guys put in? the haynes manual says 4.5. but when in put 4.5 i was a little over full. i just did an oil change(changed to royal purple) and i put in 4.25 quarts and that seems pretty good. its on the full mark. do i need to add more for some reason?

Full line is fine, but I use 4.5 quarts. The little variation between 4.25 and 4.5 does not matter. If some oil burns away or leaks slowly then use 4.5. You're fine otherwise. Don't worry about it.

Also, did you check after it's been run? .25 of a quart would fill the empty filter.

Which is it? The factory manual says it is 5 quarts with the filter. That's what I always put in mine.

I put 4.5 with filter. I just assumed he was doing the filter anyway. Sorry I did not clarify.

ALLDATA says 4 Qts. with filter change, dealer said 4.5 Qts. I go with 4.5 to be safe.

I go by the dipstick -.-
Generally 4.5-4.75 w/ oversized oil filter for me.

Make sure after you do the oil change you start your car, let it run for a couple mins, turn it off... let it sit for a couple mins, then check the oil... So the oil gets in the filter.
Then check it, and get it to full.
