The airflow direction stays in "bi-level" mode even when the knob is changed to "vent" and "floor" positions.

"Defog" and "Front Defroster" positions work ok. Need suggestions or schematic info......Thanks.

Vacuum leak. In HVAC "door" systems that are controlled by vacuum they default to bi-level mode when vacuum is lost. Look for the attachment to the system. You'll either need a new line or put the line back on. Worst case you'll need a whole new system, but that's not as likely as the other options.

What AJ said. Probably a vacuum leak. As for schematics and what not, probably can't help you there. We have a different HVAC control unit. ;)
