ok, i bought this power scanner... it is a led strip that flashes and strobes... I grounded it in the engine bay, I hooked up the other wire to my 12V outlet fuse now I need something that I can hook up the white wire so the scanner turns on when I shut my car off.. So it looks like there is an alarm in the car...

Not sure which fuse controls the power for the drivers seat but that fuse carries a constant 12v. The easiest thing to do is to get out you multimeter and start testing fuses to see which are live with the car turned off.

There's nothing I know of that's hot only when the car is off. It's either hot only when the car is on, or hot all the time. You do know that's probably going to drain your battery too right? Why don't you just get a real alarm instead of trying to make it look like one? Real alarms are more effective.

I agree with Aaron. If you're that worried about the GA being broken into or stolen, then get an actual alarm. It's a waste of money on a false sense of security.

Use a double pole relay that when the key is on will open the circuit to your scanner. When the key is off and the relay is in it's 'rest' position, it would turn the scanner on.

Maybe he wants it to look like a night rider on the front when the car is off -
Though there is no security there at all.

or just do a kill switch that will cut the power on your fuel pump just in case they brake into the car they won't be able to drive with it... well they may drive couple of feet's with the gas that still on the fuel line but after that the car will shut down.
