water in my engine???

ok yesterday i was drivin home from our boat in pouring rain and 30 mph traffic on the freeway. i was goin along and it sounded like my muffler was goin. this was a scare cuz i lost my muffler on the freeway last labor day with my old car. so i was up to 60 for a mile or two then hit a puddle. not huge or anythin, but a puddle. so i hear the noise agian. i ruled oout muffler cuz i figured itd b constant. i dont have any idea wat it was. and it didnt happen at all today. however it was mostly dry out all day. could i b gettin water in there? where would it b gettin in to? thanx in advance for any help

Easiest way to see if you got water in then engine is pull the air filter, see if it is wet.

It could be water splashing on the block and evaporating...that always makes wierd noises

On about 3 separate occasions with my stock air setup I got water in the engine! Driving on the highway, not going through puddles, in the rain. The exhaust gets a deeper sound and it feels like you sort of lose some power. After a couple of minutes it goes away when the water has evaporated. Since I've had my CAI I have driven through big puddles and have had no problems. Dunno what it is But I don't like the stock setup anyomre. Wonder why. haha

ok i now know wat its is. Macleod it is exactly wat u sed. looks like ill b lookin into a CAI soon if this keeps up. thanx guys.

I've gotten a wet engine while sitting on the driveway.:D I think its when the wind is blowing while it rains. The Ram Air,Battery and air box was mostly wet.
