I tabulated some good sources I got via the Search Feature (http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/search.php?s=) , which is ideally placed at the top right-hand corner of the web page. This is in no way a complete list, but please look over these past threads before you begin a new one. FINALLY, if you have a question that is still unanswered and that NO ONE has ever heard of, you can then start a new thread.

If you want to show everyone what your new CAI or whatever looks like in a "Check out my Install" thread, that belongs in the Member's Car Gallery (http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=13) .

Thanks everyone for helping to keep this section cleaned up! :)

Factory System
...gimmick factor 9.5
...performance factor 3.5 (at 55MPH)
...performance factor 1.0 (accelerating)
...performance factor 0.0 to -1 (idling)
...cost zilch
...HP gain=-- HP
...scare factor 0.23467 "What if a bird gets in there?!!!"
...realistic threat 0.1212 "Naah, its stock, it can't flow that much."
-"Pontiac made this as a marketing gimmcik, the duct by the washer fluid bottle doesn't even draw cold air!!!* It just travels back into itself and is sealed. The only airflow is thru the over the radiator duct... hmph!"

*Notice at the end it IS SEALED.

Factory System w/Drop in filter
...Reduce "realistic threat" above by .1210, maintain same HP gains. "I hardly notice anything with my drop-in - anyone wanna buy this thing? I need a CAI!"

Warm Air Intake, Airbox Cone Filter
...gimmick factor 3.56
...performance factor 5.0 (at 55MPH)
...performance factor 3.0 (accelerating)
...performance factor 1.0 to 0 (idling)
...cost $40-50 for a cone filter K&N
...HP gain=2-2.5 HP
...scare factor 1.2453 "Oh now I am flowing more air! But is it too hot???!!!"
...realistic threat 0.13344 Iceman's Autotap, showed "... Tonyyank's WAI was exposed to 50 degree warmer air, over Iceman's fenderwell CAI."

Warm Air Intake, Airbox Cone Filter WITH Ramair Hood
As said, you need the hood scoops to be way above the hood line. The scoops need to be carving airflow from the laminar airflow over the hood. To do this the hood scoops need to rise at least 2.5 inches from the flat surfce of the hood. This has been taken from many sources, I have seen it over and over in Car and Craft, and you can dig it up reading online. Bottom line, not much is to be gained from the ramair hoods on the market today. Consider them mostly cosmetic, and heat extractors as well as weight savers. An active scoop would look tacky, the most ideal raimair hoods are the WS6 style, they rise very HIGH. But they stand to give excellent gains since the WS6 motor has the TB right up front in the engine bay.

Cold Air Intake, Civic Short Ram Intake, Fenderwell Intake
...gimmick factor 2.0 (2 points for Ricebox origins)
...performance factor 9.0 (at 55MPH)
...performance factor 9.0 (accelerating)
...performance factor 9.0 (idling)
...cost around $100-150, depending on systems.
...HP gain=4 HP, a lot more with more mods... the best matching intake mod for making power with other mdos, and even enhancing economy.
...scare factor 2.2453 "My wife won't like this sound!!!" "What is that whistling noise???!!!" "My car sounds moe like a V8!!! Nooooooo!!!!"
...realistic threat 0.17855 "The filter gets wet! What if some drops get in my motor???" - The motor likes to be cooled, a finite amount of water is VERY good for cooling the motor. Jaketuff sucks a hell of a lot of air thru the CAI with his SC, rain or shine, and has had NO water problems. Although his filter has been filthy, it has not malfunctioned AT ALL, in 30,000 miles of use.
Iceman's Autotap showed the clear gains of the CAI over the WAI, and over the stock system. These gains make this mod the best mod have the best HP:cost:install difficulty ratio out there for the car.

The ultimate intake for the GAGT within reason would be a fenderwell, with a ducting from the front of the car to the Cone filter. This would earn 10 ratings above for performance. But it makes maintenance a little more arduous with ducting and such... or just use n2o.

$3.75

"What happens if my engine explodes?!? What happens if I get attacked by Japanese Ninjas on sport bikes and they shoot my car and it explodes?!? What happens if a bird hits my windshield, creating a shockwave inside the passenger cabin, blowing off the supply line from my nos tank and that explodes and then my car explodes too?!?"

Realistic Threat... 9.999
Purging while having someone walk infront of your car will instantly freeze one of their legs, and then they will fall down, and explode.
