I have a v6 95 grand am 4-door that I typically only drive during the winter which is fast approaching. I took it out a few days go for the first time in while and it was fine, but yesterday as I was backing out of my tight parking space there was noise and I lost all power steering. I refilled it and the reservoir empties in seconds after starting the car. With some help I was able to almost pinpoint the source, but I can't be sure. The fluid basically sprays straight out of the wheel well. It almost appears it's coming from cap at the end, I'm not sure if that's possible? Or maybe it's coming from the fitting that is right there? I've included a picture.

That looks like the end of the power steering rack and it looks pretty rusty. Probably has a hole rusted right through and won't hold any pressure. I'd say you need a new steering rack.

Thanks, looks like it needs to be replaced
