sd hoods come functional now??

i just found this pic from stinger designs website.. looks to me as they came up with a way to make it functional. here's a link to the page and the pic...

The hood has always been like that it just isn't sealed to the airbox so it's no "truly" functional. I have a cone filter in the bottom half of the airbox and the hood outlet comes down right over it. THis is about as "functional" as you are going to get without sealing off the air box but I am not even going to get into the whole "functional" argument again.....

oh i didn't know that that's how the sd hoods came.. interesting though.. i had never seen a hood on an se either!

Mine does not have the padding(black) on it, it came with just it rough fiberglassed over. I too am running a cone with the air box open in good weather. To much salt dust right now, so I put the drop in with the air box back on.

Ya, Ive never seen the underside of an SD hood like that either.

My SD looks just like that except all black (black car). Dave, you will have to take a look @ MGM3. I dont have it going to anything though. Still using all stock air box and filter. I have been thinking about making a sheild and putting a cone on so the air from the hood can make its way to the filter.

Looks as though he may have painted the underneath black where the fiberglass was so it wasn't all shotty looking.

yeah that is how my SD hood looks. except mine is painted all red in the bottom. I had a cone filter for a while but took it off. need to get it reoiled.
