well ok, i posted this on the other sites i frequent and im not really getting the replies i need atm. so here goes!

i have a 3100. its an earlier year 97(no its not a grand am)

think i have a lim leak, what do you guys think? its on the throttle body side. oil is clean. its not getting any higher. it was small at first but now its pissing it out more. it comes out of the block. any ideas? its caused me to hit red 3 times. i tried to get decent pics but its hard. i have puddles all the way down that side. i also hear a hissing noise sometimes, is it due to the cooling system being vacuumed/pressured?

im also wondering can i go to the junkyard and grab the lim from a 2001 + grand am/alero etc and it will be all good? like a conversion to the newer style/big port 3100/3400? will i also need a new uim? anything else that will need swapped?
would i also have to do the headgaskets?

You need the gasket not the lim itself. If you wanted to you could definitely upgrade to the big port 3100/3400 lim and uim but in order to simply fix the problem this is not necessary. Only thing to be aware of if swapping the UIM is the EGR changed in 00 so you would need to swap to a new style EGR as well. No you will not need to replace the head gasket as long as it it not leaking, from what you have described it sounds like the lim to me.

Good. If I were you and had any plans for the car down the line I would do the swap to ported big ports from either MP racing or WOT Tech, both are great companies. Itll cost a little to do but so worth it. Ben and Mark will be able to answer any questions you have too, they are great guys.

It's a California car, not much can really be done preformance wise. They made me smog it last year and this year again! Which left me like WTF.
I think I may have to just fix the gaskets for now and later worry about the bigger port
