View Full Version : AC clutch-- real info needed!

Alright, I know my AC compressor clutch needs to be changed. Searched the forum on an actual "how to" but came up empty.
Any info on how to actually do this on a 2000 GT V6 would be greatly appreciated!
I am great with tools and can have parts in hand in a day.

Never heard of anyone changing just the clutch. Usually the whole compressor is bad and they change the whole thing out as a unit. I looks like it can be serviced separately though. You can get just the clutch from gmpartsdirect.com for $51. I'm not home right now so I can't check my manual but I'll post up later if no one else chimes in. It shouldn't be hard. Just take the belt off and take out a few bolts I imagine.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not but i found this over on the gaoc http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112364&highlight=a%2Fc+clutch all else fails like Aaron said just replace the entire compressor.
